Many GMC Software customers have strong interactive communication projects. They create excellent customer correspondence, quotes and proposals using GMC InspireTM to connect with all of their critical information systems.

These often get routed for approval to a manager in special cases. Many times, these special cases are the highest margin new transactions, and our customers want to see and approve them as soon as possible.

However, many times the managers or other approvers aren’t at their desk staring at a laptop or computer. They are often out in the field, supporting business. So, after listening to this story from insurance companies, financial institutions, and other enterprises, we decided to put the approval process in their pockets in the form of a mobile app.

GMC Software built interactive approval apps for iOS and Android smart phones. These apps are available in their respective stores. GMC’s Interactive customers can access their tickets from their mobile smart phone. It couldn’t be easier:

  • Simply install and open the app
  • Log in with the normal Interactive credentials
  • Open the tickets that need approval
  • View the document
  • Make comments
  • Approve or reject
  • Get back to the other important tasks

We learned a few other things while developing this application. We learned that the smart phone is convenient to carry, but inconvenient to read complex documents. So, we put in a “text only” mode, which strips out the design to allow an approver to look at the text. This makes it easier to see the contents of the communication.
