USPS has announced a few changes for mailers who use Full-Service Intelligent Mail®. These changes will not affect mailers who are currently satisfying all the Full-Service requirements.
Error Reports available November in PostalOne!
With the new release of PostalOne! due November 7, new Full-Service Error and Microstrategy Reports will be available for free in your Business Customer Gateway. These new reports will allow you to see and correct any problems with your barcodes and electronic documentation. We strongly recommend that you view and act on these reports as soon as they are available.
Discounts Removed for Non-Compliant Mailings in January
Starting January 2, 2011, Full-Service mailings with errors will have their discount revoked. If you disagree with their analysis, a remediation process is available. They will be checking for:
- Unique Barcodes – all your piece, container and pallet barcodes must be unique within 45 days.
- Correct By/For data – if you mail for other companies, their Mailer ID or CRID must be included in your electronic documentation.
- Correct Mailer ID – the Mailer ID used in your piece, container and pallet barcodes must be correct.
- Valid Service Type Identifier – the STID in your piece barcodes must be correct for the type of mail you are sending.
- Valid CSA – if you have a Customer Supplier Agreement with the USPS, it must be linked properly to your mailing.
Container Link in FAST No Longer Required
One of the most difficult requirements for Full-Service has been the requirement that each FAST appointment be linked to the individual containers that are associated with that appointment. The USPS has recognized this, and starting immediately, this requirement has been removed. If you are already linking your containers to your appointment, you can continue to do so. However, you do still need to schedule all of your mailings in FAST.
Full-Service Intelligent Mail continues to evolve and advance. Stay tuned to this blog for more updates as they are announced.
