These services encompass crafting and printing up to 150,000 customized communications daily, machine-stuffing up to 200,000 envelopes, tailoring unique packaging solutions, and offering merchandise warehousing and fulfillment.

Three years ago, Florian Kirchesch, who is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, took the helm at KOMM with an ambitious vision: to expand and modernize KOMM's operations. He sought to accomplish this by enhancing the firm’s direct marketing capabilities. To do so, they required a partner who could match their dedication to flexibility, short notice management, and impeccable quality. 

KOMM had been a customer of Quadient's mailing solutions for several years, utilizing two DS-200 folder inserters. Quadient’s consistent reliability prompted Kirchesch to engage Quadient in KOMM’s business expansion plans. Quadient held extensive discussions with KOMM to present a comprehensive proposal that carefully considered the best-suited solutions for KOMM's unique requirements. “The entire process was executed seamlessly by Quadient. Range of innovative mailing solutions revolutionizes operations

To bolster its direct marketing capabilities, KOMM selected a range of Quadient folder inserters and color printers, including one DS-600 and DS-700 folder inserter and two MACH 6 color printers (they continued to utilize the two Quadient folder inserters they already had).

The DS-700 folder inserter is the new standard for high-volume mailing. It is flexible and scalable, with processing speeds of up to 7,000 envelopes per hour for a range of envelope sizes and a variety of sheet-folding styles for sheets up to 3/8” in thickness. Its capability to handle thicker content like catalogs has been a game changer for KOMM. The MACH 6 digital printer brings a new dimension to full color printing for mailing and packaging, with a print resolution of 1600x1600 dpi and production speeds of up to 9,400 #10 envelopes per hour.

Kirchesch shared an example of a recurring job that was completed twice as fast using the new DS-700 folder inserter, even though the pieces were thicker than usual. This efficiency boost has allowed KOMM to handle larger volumes of work with ease, take on additional opportunities, and align operations with their growth trajectory.

Looking ahead, KOMM is gearing up for more innovation, including exploring the shift towards digital solutions. Kirchesch acknowledged that transitioning from physical to digital products presents challenges in terms of skillset and change management within their teams.
